Anita Mui Yim Fong attend's Gong Li Wedding Banquet.

HAVING already married her Singaporean boyfriend, mainland actress Gong Li hosted a wedding banquet for close friends on Saturday at the China Club in the Old Bank of China Building in Central.

By 8 pm, more than 60 members of the local and international press, including a television crew from Beijing, had already assembled on the streets to record the arrival of celebrities. Fans were everywhere and the police had a hard time maintaining control.

Gong Li and her husband arrived at 7.30 pm in separate limousines, with the actress wearing a brown velvet dress.

Asked whether the couple had any plans to start a family, the bridegroom said he would not be a father in the near future as Gong Li still had to work on a number of films. The two have not decided where they will go for their honeymoon.

Some members of the press managed to make their way up to the China Club and caught a glimpse of an eight-tier wedding cake with red candles. Guests were treated to a buffet-style meal. Those who wanted to take a spin on the dance floor were invited to do so on the 13th floor while those who opted for a glass of champagne and some conversation could relax on the 14th floor. By this time, Li had changed into a white wedding gown.

A framed and autographed picture of Li was given to all the guests. Among them were singers Anita Mui Yim-fong and Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing.

Chinese director Chen Kaige could not make it to the reception but he sent a brief message wishing the couple happiness.

Anita Mui Yim Fong attend's the premiere of Viva Erotica.

Of course Leslie's good friend and old partner Anita Mui Yim Fong would support him by attending the premiere of Viva Erotica. That night Ah Mui wore a low cut long dress, as her arrival also stole the show from the film's two female leads Karen Morris (Mok Man Wai) and Hsu Chi! Earlier, Zhao Wen Zhou (Chiu Man Cheuk) attended the premiere of Comrade, Almost Love Story (Tim Mut Mut) solo, when the press asked about Ah Mui, he kept his mouth shut; now the reporters moved the target toward Ah Mui, "Cheuk Cheuk will soon have a new film, would you go see it?" Unexpectedly Ah Mui responded negatively, "Probably not, there is no need! (What about supporting a friend?) Friends can be many kind. Communicate? In my life I hope my name would not be linked to his......tugging and pulling, all along I am the kind of person that like clear and direct." Ah Mui says peacefully. Changing the subject, would Ah Mui attempt to be as daring as Mok Man Wai in the film? At this point, Ah Mui turns around and asks Mok Man Wai the level of exposure, then she expresses if there is a chance, she would try it, but she wouldn't try Karen's naked album cover. Ah Mui has another suggestion, "If my body is more in shape, I would suggest underwater pictures. Actually this is something I always thought about doing, I feel the blurriness of being underwater should create an interesting effect."

Gor Gor brought Anita Mui Yim Fong to the premiere of Viva Erotica

Nights ago during the premiere of Viva Erotica, male lead Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing agreed to show up at 9:00 PM, but because of the album recording he was delayed. Leslie didn't showed up until 1/2 hour later. He, who every time he appears creates chaos and under the pressure of being late, made the scene more chaotic, as the media chased him from Planet Hollywood all the way to the theater. Leslie fielded questions before the show began, delaying the premiere. Leslie is nominated for Golden Horse's Best Actor award for Temptress Moon (Fung Yuet). Besides accepting congratulations, he expresses this year's opponents are too strong, but his confidence isn't lowered. Gor Gor says, "This year is the first year Chinese (Mainland) films are attending the Golden Horse Award. This year I guess Josephine Siao Fong Fong and Xia Yu will win." Although Gor Gor estimated Xia Yu, he honestly says being nominated of course he hopes to win, "I have won the Best Actor in Japan, but have yet to win a Golden Horse." Gor Gor brought Anita Mui Yim Fong to the premiere, reminding people of another old friend -- Gong Li. When asked if Gor Gor will attend Gong Li's wedding banquet, he says, "Yes, I will definitely go." Gor Gor happily follows, "(Brigitte Lin) Lam Ching Ha, (Cherie) Chung Chor Hung, Gong Li are all lucky old friends, all able to find good husbands, I am happy for them." Does Gor Gor hope the next old friend to be married be Mui Yim Fong? He says, "I don't want to talk about that, I only hope the friends beside me are happy." Gor Gor has already picked out a wedding gift, "Gong Li has always like Tiffany's product. I can choose anything with that brand would be something Gong Li likes." Also, Gor Gor knows from early on that Gong Li will join Rock Records. He expresses Gong Li is someone who makes her own decision and would not need other's opinions; but after hearing the news, he talked to Gong Li about Rock Records and what a good company it is. Although Rock used a lot of money to get Gong Li, Gor Gor is still number one there in terms of salary, "I don't mind the money, the most important is the sincerity and the production standards." After Chun Guong Ja Sit (Lit: Spring Light Leaking) with Wong Kar Wai, Gor Gor guesses the soonest will be the end of next year before he returns to films.

Anita Mui Yim Fong attended the release of Hark Hap (Lit: Black Hero) .

"China Star"'s worldwide release of Hark Hap (Lit: Black Hero) was held in Hong Kong. Besides male lead Jet Li (Lee Nin Kit) is missing due to the filming of his latest Sai Wik Hung Si (Lit: West Territory Mighty Lion), many of Mr. and Mrs. Heung Wa Keung's friends like Anita Mui Yim Fong, Andy Lau Tak Wa, Nat Chan Bak Cheung, Irene Wan Pik Ha, Jordan Chan Siu Chun etc. attended. Heung Wa Keung has just returned from a film festival in Milan. He is happy that Black Mask is popular in both Europe and the U.S. and that Hong Kong productions are being recognized, like the talents of Jackie Chan, Tsui Hark, John Woo (Ng Yuen Sum) and Ringo Lam Lan Tung. Mr. Heung revealed during this trip many U.S. investors approached him requesting collaborations, as they planned to set up with Hong Kong Wins Entertainment Company "Wins Movie Fund" estimating upon completion it will hold US$50,000,000 for film investments. Due to the Western style of Black Mask being accepted by the audiences in the West. If the fund is successfully set up, this would strengthen the Hong Kong film industry. The fund will hopefully be ready for the middle of next year. Mr. Heung pointed out at that time the productions will have an Asian production crew and foreign cast to strengthen Asian Films' international position. Also, Mr. Heung pointed out besides the quality of Black Mask, the foreign investors were also surprised by the control HKers had over the budget. Using Black Mask as an example, Wins Entertainment invested about $US6 million, if it was done outside, it would cost at the very least US$30 million. "Hong Kong can use low amount of money to make high quality films, like behind the scene there is Tsui Hark, in front there is Jet Li, on top of that China Star is now on the (stock) market, with some substance economically. If it can deal with foreign influx of cash, Hong Kong movies' future will be unlimited." Heung Wa Keung said. This year, Wins Entertainment will release Sai Wik Hung Si for Chinese New Year, with the entire film shot in the U.S. and the crew includes Jet Li and Rosamond Kwan Chi Lam. The film's budget should be close to that of Black Mask. The film of course will include a large stampede scene. The director will be Samo Hung Kam Bo.
